How to Join the UniMe Gym & Sports Facilities
As an enrolled Erasmus student at the University of Messina, you can access the university sports facilities and gym activities for free through SSD UniMe (at the Cittadella Sportiva Universitaria in Annunziata and Palazzo Mariani downtown).
STEP 1: Fill out the Online Pre-Registration Form
Go to the official SSD UniMe portal or the student free-access form:

Fill in your personal details using your official UniMe student credentials / institutional email.
STEP 2: Wait for Confirmation
The SSD UniMe secretariat will review your request and verify your student enrollment.
You will receive a confirmation email once your pre-registration has been approved.
STEP 3: Obtain a Medical Certificate (Certificato Medico)
In Italy, sports facilities legally require a valid medical certificate for non-competitive sports (certificato medico per attività sportiva non agonistica, which includes a resting
ECG).
You can get this medical certificate directly at the Cittadella Sportiva Universitaria (Viale Palatucci 13 – S.S. Annunziata).

STEP 4: Visit the Secretary Desk in Person to Finalize Registration
Once you have received your confirmation email and your medical certificate, go to the SSD
UniMe Front Office?
Where to go:
Cittadella Sportiva Universitaria (Polo Annunziata), or
Palazzo Mariani Gym (Piazza Antonello, city centre).
What to bring?
1. Your valid Medical Certificate;
2. Photo ID / Passport;
3. your UniMe student badge / enrollment confirmation.
€10 total in fees:
- €5 annual registration/insurance fee (valid for 12 months).
- €5 refundable deposit for your entry badge/card.
Sign the registration forms on-site.
STEP 5: Book Your Sessions Online
After completing the in-person registration, you will receive login credentials for the online booking platform (InforYou / TeamSystem). Log in, change your default password, and book your preferred gym session or class before going!
