Great cleaning for the start of the holiday!

On Sunday, there was a great beach cleanup. ESN with our great volunteeres taking care of environment.

The event was to integrate and spend time together to protect the environment. After cleaning up we spent an evening on the beach when we had fun and talking.

About 30 people, got together, to clean up a beach area in the hamlet of Ganzirri, a beach usually much frequented by residents and others.

Different types of waste, were meticulously picked up by volunteers and, as always, there is no shortage of disposable plastic, which if dispersed in the environment represents one of the main enemies of our seas.

We would like to thank the association ESN Messina - Erasmus Student Network that asked us to participate in the collection, making many wet people think about the sense of belonging to their own land: seeing foreign students picking up garbage on their beach must not have been a symptom of pride, in fact we were told and, soon after, some of them helped us.

That is what these interventions are needed for, to resurrect a people's love and passion for their land that has been increasingly lacking over the past sixty years.
